Ribbon Cutting Moment

Today is a moment of celebration, gratitude, and reflection as we proudly unveil the new patient space on J12 at Oishei Children’s Hospital. This thoughtfully designed room is more than just a physical space—it’s a haven of comfort, healing, and hope for the incredible young warriors and their families who inspire us every day.

Four years ago, we began dreaming of a space that would not only provide respite from the long, challenging days of hospital stays but also create an environment that felt like somewhere beyond the hospital floor. A space where children could find joy, families could feel supported, and everyone could experience a sense of peace. Thanks to the dedication of so many incredible individuals, that dream has come to life.

On behalf of the entire Olivia’s Bears team—Ali, Olivia, Ken, Mary, Kelly, Vicky, Amanda, and Maureen—we extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who played a part in this journey. Special thanks go to the Oishei Children’s Hospital Foundation, Jessica, Melissa, Amanda, Nick, Allie, and the amazing teams at Ethan Allen, Millington Lockwood, IT, Sound & Theater, Plant Operations, and Colt45, for their television donation. Your generosity, dedication, and support have created something extraordinary for the children and families who will use this space.

This milestone is also a testament to Olivia’s resilience and passion for giving back, as well as the continued support of our friends, family, and community. When we began Olivia’s Bears 14 years ago, it started with a small delivery of just 20 bears and a $300 budget. Never did we imagine that what began as one bear at a time would grow into something so impactful. Standing here today, surrounded by this community of compassion and strength, is a dream realized.

This project represents not only the hard work and dedication of so many but also the incredible partnerships we’ve built along the way. Together, we’ve created something that will benefit our community for years to come. We are forever grateful for this opportunity and excited about the potential for even more impactful partnerships in the future.
